GYMNASTICS: At Cedar City, the T-Birds scored their highest team score of the night on floor in the final rotation of the night, but it wasn't enough to catch a solid Iowa team in a 195.400-194.725 loss to the Hawkeyes on Friday night.
SUU sophomore Elise Wheeler claimed two individual titles during the evening with meet-high marks on the vault and uneven bars.
BASEBALL: At Cedar City, the Thunderbirds scored 10 runs in the third inning and Kristina Brooks struck out seven as the T-Birds notched a five-inning, mercy-rule win over Summit League opponent South Dakota State, 11-2, on Saturday.
The win improved SUU to 2-1 in conference play and 6-17 overall.
