BYU scored a run apiece in the second and third innings to go up 4-0.

Jake Rickenbach got UVSC on the board when he bounced a single over third to bring in Kevin Arendse for the first run. Kai Hatch's two-out RBI in the fourth brought the Wolverines within two runs.

After BYU scored in the eighth, the Wolverines rallied to get two in the ninth and had runners on second and third before the Cougars secured the win.
