PROVO A 22-year-old Provo man is being held in the Utah County Jail while the police investigate his alleged involvement in harboring a 14-year-old female runaway, having unlawful sex with her, supplying her with alcohol, possession of forged writings and identity theft.
After being contacted by the girl, who had since returned home, the police investigated the man who had allowed her to stay with him for at least two days.
The girl told police she engaged in sexual intercourse with the man. She also said he gave her alcohol and offered her drugs, according to the police report.
After a search warrant was issued for the residence at 671 N. 1050 West, the police found two resident identification cards as well as two Social Security cards. The numbers on the cards were linked to people other than the man and federal agents assisting in the search verified that the documents were fraudulent.
While in custody, the man "acknowledged he had sex with the 14-year-old girl three times and that he provided her alcohol," the police report said.
