RIVERDALE The Utah Department of Transportation has started limited construction on the Riverdale Road improvement project. A groundbreaking ceremony on the project will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at 1500 W. Riverdale Road, just south of Motel 6.
Riverdale Road is one of the busiest non-freeway corridors in Utah and bridges several communities in southern Weber County.
This year, UDOT will add new lanes between I-84 and the Weber River viaduct, reconstruct the pavement and reconstruct the I-84 interchange into a single-point urban interchange configuration. UDOT is seeking funds to continue the project east of the viaduct in 2009.
Business owners and government leaders will learn project updates and tips on dealing with construction after the groundbreaking.
