At Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Andy Roddick served his way past another top-five opponent, beating Novak Djokovic 7-6 (5), 6-3 Friday to advance to the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships. The sixth-seeded American had 14 aces against the third-ranked Djokovic. Like No. 2 Rafael Nadal, who lost to Roddick on Thursday, Djokovic failed to break Roddick's serve. Roddick said the tournament couldn't have gone better. "There's not much I'm not happy with as far as the week goes so far," Roddick said. In the other semifinal match, Feliciano Lopez won five straight games in the last set to beat Nikolay Davydenko 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.

TENNIS CHANNEL OPEN: At Las Vegas, fourth-seeded Guillermo Canas of Chile remained the lone seeded player left in the Tennis Channel Open on Friday, beating American qualifier Amer Delic 6-4, 6-4 to reach the semifinals. While Delic made 29 unforced errors, Canas committed just seven. In three matches this week, Canas has made 35 unforced errors in six sets compared to 95 for his foes. Canas also has won 78 percent (40-for-51) of his total service points. Another qualifier, Kevin Anderson, beat Evgeny Korolev, 6-2, 6-0, in 53 minutes. The 6-foot, 7-inch Anderson, from South Africa, will face wild-card Robby Ginepri, a 6-1, 6-2 winner over unseeded Ernests Gulbis of Latvia.

BANGALORE OPEN: At Bangalore, India, Venus Williams dispatched Vera Zvonareva 6-4, 6-3 Friday to reach the semifinals of the WTA's Bangalore Open. She was joined in the final four by Patty Schnyder, who beat Akgul Amanmurdova 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (1). Venus will meet the winner of Friday's quarterfinal between sister Serena Williams and Russia's Anastasia Rodionova.
