An "education transition team" is poised to take your input.
A series of town meetings begin today at Hillcrest High School's auditorium, 7350 S. 900 East. Other meetings are scheduled:
• Thursday at Willow Springs Elementary School's gymnasium, 13288 S. Lone Rock Drive (465 East).
• March 12 at Brighton High School's media center, 2220 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 South).
• March 13 at the Jordan High School auditorium, 95 E. Beetdigger Blvd. (9880 South).
The team is led by John Bennion, former superintendent of Provo and Salt Lake school districts; Rickie McCandless, former Salt Lake District administrator; and Sandra Petersen, retired Davis District assistant superintendent. All meetings begin at 7 p.m.
In related news, those wanting a spot on the new school board can throw their hat in the ring at the Salt Lake County Clerk's Office March 7-14. Elections are June 24; the new board takes office July 15.
