Two-time NCAA gymnastics all-around champion Courtney Kupets of Georgia is out for the season after tearing an Achilles tendon in Saturday's 197.90-195.95 win over Arkansas at Georgia's Stegeman Coliseum, which will be the site of the 2008 NCAA Championships April 24-26.

The injury means the resident of Athens, Ga., will miss the national championships in her hometown.

Kupets, also the 2007 NCAA vault champion and a member of the 2004 U.S. silver-medal-winning Olympic team, was injured on her first tumbling pass as the second-to-last competitor of Saturday's meet for the Gym Dogs.

Utah's Ashley Postell placed second to Kupets each of the last two seasons in the NCAA all-around.

Georgia and Utah are ranked one-two, respectively, this season.
