Health conference Friday in West Valley

The Health Education Association of Utah is inviting health professionals and the public to its Capacity Building for Healthier Communities 2008 conference Friday at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center, 3100 S. 1355 West in West Valley City.

Highlights include keynote speaker Dr. Marshall Kreuter, author of "Community Health Promotion Ideas That Work" and a former distinguished scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Wendy Jones of the National Center for Cultural Competence at Georgetown University; and a panel on global warming with Dr. Jim Steenburgh of the University of Utah, as well as former Salt Lake mayor Rocky Anderson.

There will be a preconference workshop with Kreuter called "Promoting Health in the Face of Wicked Problems" on Thursday.
