Buttars deserves forgiveness

I do not reside in Chris Buttars' voting district. However, I believe it is absolutely appropriate that he seek re-election. His constituents are more than qualified to determine whether he should represent them or not. There has been such a rush to judge and condemn this man. I refer to the opinion section of this paper, as well as comments made by prominent civic leaders. There has been a great deal of discussion regarding our need for compassion as it pertains to illegal immigrants. Shouldn't compassion apply equally toward one of our own citizens? Sen. Buttars has apologized. Let us forgive him and put this matter to rest.
