FARMINGTON Tuesday's meeting of the Davis County Board of Commissioners will be at 6:30 p.m. instead of 10 a.m.
It's part of keeping a campaign promise by Davis County's most recently elected commissioners.
Back when they were candidates for office, commissioners Bret Millburn and Louenda Downs said they wanted to try some new things with their public meetings.
One of their plans was to hold an occasional meeting at night to accommodate more of the public.
Downs said holding night meetings will likely cost the county more money because they will require some county employees to work after regular business hours.
Tuesday's meeting will be in the Davis County Memorial Courthouse at 28 E. State.
Another campaign promise was to visit a different city council meeting each month, which commissioners have done for a year. Before each city council meeting they attend, commissioners hold a meet-and-greet for county residents to ask questions and share concerns. Though the March meeting hasn't been set, commissioners have yet to visit Woods Cross, West Point, Farmington and Fruit Heights city councils.
