The FBI is warning of a new e-mail scam involving a purported "hitman."
The e-mail circulating warns of a hitman hired by a close friend or relative to kill the recipient, but they have a chance to live if they pay the amount demanded in the e-mail.
The FBI said anyone who receives the e-mail should notify federal authoritiesat www.ic3.gov, then delete the e-mail or ignore it.
