Backcountry and Outside Magazines will hold the first Backcountry Rendezvous at Powder Mountain ski resort March 24-30, which will represent the biggest backcountry gear test ever.

Outside Magazine is joining the backcountry test for one reason: authenticity.

"By joining forces and sharing testers, data and our respective expertise, each magazine will be able to provide our readers what they want — more in-depth and authoritative reviews," said Sam Moulton of Outside Magazine.

This new format also allows magazines to bring in their entire editorial staff and seasoned testers from the East and throughout the West to one location.

Powder Mountain is located 19 miles from Ogden.
