Northwest Airlines has announced daily nonstop service between Salt Lake City and Detroit World Gateway that will begin June 5.
The flights will use a 124-seat A319 Airbus. Flight 859 will depart Detroit at 10:40 a.m. and arrive in Salt Lake City at 12:40 p.m. Flight 860 will depart Salt Lake City at noon and will arrive in Detroit at 5:30 p.m.
"Northwest Airlines is pleased to offer the convenience of daily nonstop service to our customers traveling between Detroit and Salt Lake City," said Dennis Newman, vice president of network planning and scheduling. "This new service also allows us to provide our Salt Lake City customers connections to more than 150 destinations throughout our system via one of the best hub facilities in the world."
Northwest has hubs in Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Memphis, Tokyo and Amsterdam and has about 1,400 daily flights.
