• Winner: It will be remembered as the Blizzard of '08. The storm that walloped the Wasatch Front Wednesday was hardly a winner in the minds of many. But the way Utahns responded to it certainly was.
Some schools ended up hosting involuntary slumber parties, keeping children comfortable and safe all night because parents couldn't reach them. Some stores brought out pillows to help stranded customers stay comfortable.
Weather will come and go, but kindnesses last forever.
• Loser: Two message therapists, working at different companies, were arrested this week and charged with sexual assault. Police say other customers have since come forward with accusations of their own against the two. Given the relative intimacy of a massage, these arrests raise questions about how carefully the industry is being regulated in Utah.
