The Utah chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed Jason Chaffetz's candidacy for Utah's 3rd Congressional District seat.
Chaffetz is challenging fellow Republican Rep. Chris Cannon, who has served six terms in Congress. Other Republicans challenging Cannon for the party's nomination are Joe Ferguson and David Leavitt.
Chaffetz and Utah state FOP President Chad Soffe announced the endorsement at a press conference in Taylorsville.
The Fraternal Order of Police is the world's largest organization of police officers, with more than 324,000 members.
