PROVO — Several areas of northern Utah County are still experiencing power outages following Wednesday night's snowstorm.

Parts of Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, American Fork, Pleasant Grove and Orem all saw power outages throughout the morning hours.

Rocky Mountain Power officials said power had already been restored to close to 60,000 people across the Wasatch Front, and said the company is doing all it can to resolve the remaining problems.

"We currently have power outages affecting approximately 24,000 people in Idaho and Utah, due to a generation and transmission system problem," Rocky Mountain Power spokesman Jeff Hymas said. "Rocky Mountain Power is in the process of resolving the problem. The customer count has been reduced from an earlier count of 80,000 down to that number we have now. We hope to have power restored to all customer by the early this afternoon."
