• Phillips Gallery will host an Artist Talk by artist Michael Hall on Friday from 5-6 p.m. Held in conjunction with Hall's exhibit, "Examining the Linear Community," the artist will discuss his work and the act of artmaking. • Visage Salon Studios, 2006 S. 900 East, announces a call for fine art exhibit entries/proposals. Interested artists should provide slides, photographs or digital photo files of work for consideration. Submission must include a statement of interest or exhibit proposal, artist statement and brief bio or statement of qualifications. Exhibition season will likely be set by April 1. • The Salt Lake Art Center, 20 S. West Temple, will host a gallery talk by Keith Wells, curator at the Museum of Art at Washington State University at 6:30 p.m. during the Gallery Stroll. Wells will discuss the work of Gaylen Hansen, whose show, "Three Decades of Painting," will open the next day.

• The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at Utah State University will host a lecture by Channa Horwitz on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Performance Hall (1090 E. 675 North).
