NORTH OGDEN A man was killed Thursday morning after the car he was driving was T-boned by an Ogden police officer's vehicle on Washington Boulevard.
Ogden Police Lt. Scott Sangberg said the accident happened at 6:50 a.m. at the intersection of 1900 North and Washington Boulevard.
The officer, identified as Christopher Edwards, was returning home from an overnight shift when the man's vehicle pulled out in front of his car, Sangberg said.
"The officer T-boned in the driver's side door," Sangberg said.
The motorist, whose name was not immediately released, was killed. Edwards, a 12-year veteran of the department, was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital, where he is being treated for a broken arm and concussion.
The Ogden Police Department said Thursday it is conducting an internal investigation of the crash, while North Ogden police and Utah Highway Patrol will conduct the actual investigation of the accident.
