• A. John Davis III, Angela Franklin, Oliver W. Gushee, William E. Ward, Shawn T. Welch and Mark L. Burghardt have joined the law firm of Holme Roberts & Owen LLP. They previously were with a firm focused on natural resources law, including oil and gas, mining, environmental issues, public lands, American Indian law, real estate and related fields. Pruitt Gushee represented industrial clients, commodity producers and business clients since 1970. Davis has more than 25 years of experience in oil, gas and mining, environmental law, public lands, real estate and associated litigation. Franklin's practice involves mainly oil and gas law. She has widespread experience with title examination of private, federal, state and American Indian lands in Utah and Wyoming and rendering drilling, division order, acquisition and financing opinions. Gushee focuses on exploration, development and production of mineral properties. Ward spends the majority of his time representing oil and gas clients, performing title examinations of all types. Welch focuses his practice on natural resource development, with particular emphasis on public lands and natural resources litigation and oil and gas development. Burghardt's education includes a degree from the University of Utah.
• Alison Faulkner, Trent Wall and Katie Rasmussen have joined Love Communications. Faulkner is a copywriter. Before joining the agency, she was marketing director and designer for another company. Her education includes a degree from Brigham Young University. Wall is a new art director. His education includes a degree from Brigham Young University. Rasmussen, the agency's new office manager, provides client service and media assistance for each of the firm's accounts and assists the agency's principals on other client and front-office needs. Before joining Love Communications, Rasmussen was the administrative assistant and office manager for Heritage Festivals.
• Steve Goalen has joined Jacobsen Capital Management as director of investment management. His primary duties include manager selection and review, investment research, mutual fund selection and review and asset allocation. His education includes a degree from the University of Utah.
