• The Kimball Art Center, 638 Park Ave., Park City, will host an Art Talk, "From Folklores to Border Crossings: An Artist's Journey to Social Commentary," featuring artist Jimmy Lucero on Saturday from 5-6 p.m. Lucero, artist and educator, will present past and present work and discuss his personal journey as a Latino artist. • The Salt Lake Art Design Board announces the installation of a new public art project at Steenblik Park (1100 W. 800 North) in the Rose Park neighborhood. "Dairy Cats," by Day Christensen, are cast bronze with varied patinas and are 4 feet tall and sited so children and adults can enjoy them.

• The Finch Lane Gallery announces a call for entries for visual artists who would like their work to be considered for exhibitions during November 2008-October 2009. Completed applications, accompanied by images of the artist's work, are due at Arts Council office (54 Finch Lane, Salt Lake City) by Monday, March 17.
