OREM Utah Flash guard Andre Ingram made 13 of 16 shots for a season-high 33 points to lead the Flash to a 108-92 blowout of the Anaheim Arsenal.
"I just wanted to be aggressive but be selective," Ingram said. "You take your time and look for the right shot. And usually, especially with a team like this that passes the ball a lot and moves the ball around with so many unselfish guys, you're going to get open looks."
Both teams started slowly, as the score was tied at 15 with about a minute and a half left in the first quarter. Arsenal forward Kedrick Brown accounted for nine of his team's first 13 points.
Anaheim took a 23-20 lead at the end of the period when, after Ingram hit a pullup jumper with 2.9 seconds remaining, Arsenal guard Davin White caught a pass on the inbounds play and made a layup with 0.2 seconds left.
Utah went on a 16-4 run early in the second quarter to take a 40-30 lead. It extended the lead to 13 at one point before taking a 51-43 lead into the break.
Ingram led all scorers with 15 points in the half, while center James Lang had 10. Brown and forward Steven Smith had 14 and 13, respectively, for the Arsenal.
The Flash remained in control throughout the third quarter, as Anaheim was unable to get closer than six points, and Utah eventually extended its lead to 79-66 heading into the final period.
Despite the Flash enjoying at least a nine-point lead throughout, the fourth quarter was still full of intensity and saw some spectacular plays.
First, after Smith missed a 3-pointer, Ejike Ugboaja came flying in from the left baseline to dunk the ball home. About a minute later, Lang caught a pass on an inbounds play for a thunderous dunk.
Despite getting the lead down to nine with 5:21 left, the Arsenal fell apart down the stretch. The collapse was highlighted by Anaheim coach Reggie Geary's ejection after a controversial call.
Utah guard Brian Hamilton scored a layup and landed on Anaheim guard Ivan Johnson, who was called for a foul, despite the fact that he was sitting on the floor. The Flash cruised from there.
In addition to Ingram's big night, Lang went 11-for-13 for 25 points and eight rebounds, and point guard Kevin Kruger had a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists, as the Flash shot 57.3 percent from the floor.
"Our main goal is to create offense inside out," Flash coach Brad Jones said. "When we can establish an inside game, it frees everything up for us offensively."
Smith scored 28 points off the bench to lead the Arsenal.
