Address immigration issues

The LDS Church leaders told legislative leaders to show compassion concerning the illegal immigration issue (Jan. 19). I would suggest we show compassion to the large number of immigrants who are trying to come into this country through the proper legal method.

We need to show compassion to the very large number of American citizens who have had their IDs stolen and had to spend countless hours and money to clear their names. We need to show compassion to the American taxpayer who pays for medical benefits for the illegal immigrants. We should show compassion to the families who have lost loved ones through crimes committed by illegal immigrants.
