So you think you'll audition?

Well, it's about time! Fox has announced where it will be holding auditions for the next season of "So You Think You Can Dance," and one of them is right here in Salt Lake City.

Talent scouts will be at the Capitol Theatre two weeks from today. (See accompanying box for details.)

Given how much Utah has contributed to the dancing-on-TV craze in general and this show in particular, it seems only fair, doesn't it?

After all, Utahn Sabra Johnson was the big winner last season on "So You Think You Can Dance." And the season before that, Utahns Allison Holker and Jaymz Tuaileva were both finalists on the show.

And then there's a little show called "Dancing With the Stars," in which one Utah celebrity, Apolo Anton Ohno, was the winner of Season 4; and another Utah celebrity, Marie Osmond, finished third in Season 5.

Let's not forget that Utahn Julianne Hough has been the professional dancing partner of the last two winners — Ohno and Helio Castroneves. Or that Hough's brother, Derek, was the professional dancing partner of Jennie Garth, who finished fourth last season.

Or that Utahn Ashley DelGrosso was one of the professional dancers on the first three seasons of "Dancing With the Stars." As was Louis van Amstel, a Dutch dancer who lived in Orem for several years. Or that Utahn Andrea Hale was a professional dancer in Season 1.

Then there's the dozens of Utah dancers who have appeared in the first two "High School Musical" movies.

And now there's a Utahn on the "Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann" series that's filling time on ABC until the next round of "Dancing With the Stars" begins. Utahn Zack Wilson is on Bruno Tonioli's team — and Wilson is also Hough's former fiance.

At that point, this starts to get really weird.

What with the producers of those movies and the producers of the two dancing TV shows gushing over the talent pool here in Utah, why not jump into that pool with both feet?

(The other audition cities are Dallas, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Milwaukee and Charleston, S.C.)

It makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?
