PRICE A balanced effort helped the Snow College women's basketball team pick up its second conference road win in as many days Saturday.
Cori Nielson led four Badgers in double-figure scoring with 17 points as they followed up their blowout win Friday at Colorado Northwestern Community College with a 78-72 victory at the College of Eastern Utah on Saturday.
Also for Snow, Chelsey Brown hit 4-of-5 3-pointers and scored 14 points, while Cami Hymas and Lindsei Wilson added 11 points apiece and grabbed a combined 17 rebounds.
The two SWAC road wins put the Badgers above .500 overall at 9-8 and in conference action at 1-2.
Amber Strong topped the Golden Eagles (9-10, 0-4) with 19 points, but they struggled from the field only hitting 27.1 percent of their shots.
Frontier
MONTANA WESTERN 65, WESTMINSTER 64 (OT): At Dillon, Mont., Montana Western outscored Westminster 6-5 in overtime for the tight win. The loss dropped the Griffins to 16-5 on the season and 2-2 in Frontier Conference games.
Shannon Evans led the Griffins with 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Evans was 6-of-9 from long range and had two assists and two steals. Kelsi Olsen added 12 points and Alexis Tucker recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds, her second double-double.
Westminster out-shot the Bulldogs 39.6 percent to 37.3 percent, but the Western bench went for 31 points while the Griffin reserves tallied just nine. Westminster also had a 37-32 advantage on the boards, including 12 offensive rebounds.
Scenic West
SLCC 68, CNCC 39: At Rangely, Colo., Keshia Catten scored 16 points to help the Bruin women win their third straight road conference game in convincing fashion over Colorado Northwestern.
Marquina Gilliam-Hicks added 11 points, six assists and five rebounds off the bench for SLCC, which improved to 14-4 with its fifth victory in a row.
