The owners of Powder Mountain Winter Resort have filed a petition with Weber County seeking to incorporate as a town.
The resort is located about 20 miles northeast of Ogden, on the Cache County-Weber County border.
Under Utah law, individuals can seek incorporation if there are at least 100 residents and there is support from landowners possessing more than 50 percent of the property's market value and more than 50 percent of the land within the area proposed.
