Cottonwood Heights breaking off from the sheriff's office and forming the Cottonwood Heights Police Department is about as unnecessary as Cottonwood Heights breaking off from the Jordan School District. The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office has been serving the residents of Cottonwood Heights for decades and deputies have proven themselves to be proficient at their jobs. I seriously doubt the Cottonwood Heights Police Department would have the good response time and success rate of its predecessors.
