Trolley Square officials said Tuesday that the Regency Theatres will close Feb. 1, as the shopping center's renovations move into a final stage in the western portion of the main building.
Movies will be shown on two of the four screens through January.
Remaining work in the renovations includes adding a glass elevator in the center court, revamping the western staircase, opening up additional skylights, upgrading the common area lighting and flooring, and adding seismic upgrades.
The $10 million Phase I renovations began on Trolley's main retail building last spring. Completed work includes adding a stairway at the east entrance and improving the mall's central court with additional sitting areas and gathering space. Two future phases will add retail and parking space and improve landscaping.
