Nu Skin Enterprises Inc., a Provo-based company that sells health products, said Tuesday that it has received Chinese government approval to begin direct-sales activities in a larger portion of China.
The company has had permission to sell its products in China since July 2006 but has been restricted to areas of Shanghai. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce now has approved activities in all 18 Beijing districts and four more districts in Shanghai, allowing the company to have a direct-sales model in all 12 Shanghai districts.
The approval gives the company authorization for sales to more than 37 million people in Beijing and Shanghai, NuSkin officials said.
Nu Skin sells personal-care products under the Nu Skin brand, nutritional supplements under the Pharmanex brand and technology-based products and services under the Big Planet brand.
