Here's my look at some of the highs and lows of Salt Lake area radio for 2007:

Best overall morning shows — 1. "Johnson and Johnson" on KUBL; 2. "Jon Carter and the Coach" on KRSP

Most entertaining morning shows — 1. "Radio From Hell" (Kerry, Bill and Gina) on KXRK; 2. "Z-Morning Zoo" (Frankie, Dangerboy and Jessica) on KZHT

Most entertaining afternoon show — Mick and Allen on KBER

Best talk show — Doug Wright on KSL

Best news station — KSL

Best midday personality — Shawn Stevens on KBEE

Best afternoon personality— Danny Kramer on KDYL

Best evening personality — Michael Castner, formerly on KSL's Nightside Project

Best minishow — "Beehive Radio" with Brandon Johnson on KCPW

Best religious show — Van Hale's "Mormon Miscellaneous" on KTKK

Best voices — Tim Hughes, with an Olympic-medal caliber sound (he will be doing voice work at a fourth Olympic Games next summer), and Bob Nelson, KSFI, with a deep, smooth voice.

Best multitalented DJ — Rick Shane of Citadel Broadcasting (KBEE and other stations). Is there any style he can't do? Disco, country, race announcing, he's ultra-versatile.

Best host to get you going in the morning — Amanda Dickson on KSL

Best musical programming — 1. KRSP; 2. KJMY ("MY-99.5")

Best sports radio station — KFNZ, AM-1320

Best new format — True Oldies on KKAT, AM-860

Best radio Web sites — KSL and KXRK

Best decisions — Revamping KXRV (FM-105.7) from "The River" to "My Country"; KSL keeping "The Nightside Project," even if it is scaled down.

Best stunt producers — "Johnson and Johnson" on KUBL

Best on TV — "Z-Morning Zoo" (Frankie, Dangerboy and Jessica) whose show airs on "The Hive" TV each weekday
