Intrepid Potash Inc. is taking steps to have an initial public offering of its common stock.
The Denver-based company said that it filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday for the proposed offering.
Intrepid Mining LLC, the parent company of Intrepid Potash, is the largest producer of potash in the United States, according to the company. Intrepid Mining owns five active potash production facilities, including two in Utah Wendover and Moab. The company's other three facilities are in New Mexico.
