West Middle School in Fort Duchesne will be closing after several years of failing to meet testing and attendance requirements under the No Child Left Behind Act.

The Uintah County School Board has decided to send the West Middle School kids on a 20-mile bus ride into Vernal instead of restructuring the school. It is the first school in Utah whose struggles to meet NCLB led to its closure.
