I was scratching my head as I read Scott McCoy's "My View" article on religion (Dec. 16). According to McCoy, the anti-Mormon rant by Lawrence O'Donnell would never occur within the Democratic Party. Consequently, all Mormons should convert to the Democratic Party because it is a beacon of religious tolerance.
McCoy may want to check the credentials of O'Donnell before making such a statement: Democratic chief of staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance and senior adviser to Democratic Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan.
