The Salt Lake County Sheriff's office is reporting three avalanches in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

The latest report was that two snowmobilers may have been caught in the third slide. As of 3 p.m. there were few details on their conditions or any information about the actual avalanche.

The first avalanche happened in an out-of-bounds area near Brighton Ski Resort and partially buried one person, according to the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office.

The incident was reported about 1:30 p.m. The person who was trapped in the slide reportedly did not have his head or shoulders buried and was conscious and breathing.

Sgt. Rex Mulholland said the slide was described by those at the scene as a "small avalanche." He said ski patrol was able to get to the man quickly and get him out with no injuries.

The Deseret Morning News will have more on this story as details become available.
