"It's not a road, it's just a business," he said. "I make decisions based on what I see, and he has his thoughts as to what he sees. Most players do. They have different opinions than what I have. I don't expect them to agree with me all the time. That's the nature of the coaching business.

"The only thing I expect them to do," Sloan added, "is try to play together as a team."

Even if Giricek might want to be traded out of Utah, as some around the team suspect, Sloan suggested it won't impact how he's used.

"One way or the other," he said, "we'll play however we feel like is the best for us to try to play him — or anybody else."

Sloan brought Giricek first off the bench behind starter Ronnie Brewer in Wednesday's opening half.

GILL WAIVED: New Jersey on Wednesday waived Weber State product and NBA veteran Eddie Gill.

Gill — who played this past July for the Jazz's Rocky Mountain Revue summer-league team — averaged 2.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 13 games for the Nets while usual backup point guard Marcus Williams was sidelined by a foot injury.
