The trailers first will be offered in a group and then individually, and whichever process yields a higher total will be implemented. Olson said individual sales typically have a higher total. "In my opinion, we've got some $10,000 trailers there and some $35,000 trailers there," he said. "It's a pretty big range."

Erkelens & Olson Auctioneers handles all Chapter 7 bankruptcy auctions for the state and can add the trailers to a diverse portfolio it has had up for bids.

"We've seen everything from false teeth to clothing to heavy equipment. It's part of the territory. Whenever the phone rings, you never know what it will be. We've sold prosthetic feet for a prosthetic foot company, and who would have thought that? We've done automotive shops, salons," Olson said.

"We've sold semi trucks and trailers, but ones that were used for movie stars for their hair and makeup? I can't say we've sold that before, and we're a third-generation auction family."
