A former member of the LeBaron polygamous family will speak about her experience during a lecture at the Salt Lake City library tonight.
Irene Spencer has authored the book, "Shattered Dreams" about her life in the LeBaron group as the second of 10 wives of Verlan LeBaron. In the book, Spencer describes her 46 years in fundamentalism and then how she left.
"Shattered Dreams" reached No. 10 on the New York Times best-seller list. She will speak at the Salt Lake City Main Library after the screening of a documentary on the Fundamentalist LDS Church at 6 p.m.
