Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama now has a Utah headquarters. Some 200 people braved Saturday's winter weather to attend the opening of the office at 1747 S. 900 West.
The new office is part of an effort by the campaign to open offices in states that have Feb. 5 primaries. It's a statewide effort, and volunteers are still signing up, said Aaron Wiley, Utah state field director for Obama's campaign.
When asked about the logistics of a Democrat's chances in perhaps the reddest of GOP states, Wiley responded: "He's serious and he wants to win Utah. We're going to be knocking on doors, putting on more events and getting involved in community events."
