LA VERKIN, Washington County — A woman killed Tuesday in an auto-pedestrian crash has been identified.

Judith Johnson, 64, of La Verkin, was hit at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 9. She was crossing the street in the dark, troopers said.

Johnson was taken to a St. George hospital, where she died. No citation was issued to the driver of the car, troopers said.

Johnson is the third person since Saturday to die on Utah roads after being hit by vehicles. In Layton 15-year-old Chelsea Smith-Peaslee died while trying to cross I-15 about 11 p.m. Saturday. Earlier that day, 73-year-old Marie Gabaldon died after being run over twice by a motor home in Ogden.
