Alternate Energy Holdings Inc. said Thursday it has received a $150-million commitment letter from Silverleaf Capital Partners LLC, based in Salt Lake City.
Alternate Energy Holdings is a holding company for the Idaho Energy Complex Corp., which is a proposed $4.5 billion commercial nuclear power plant and biofuel generation facility to be built near Grand View, Idaho.
The commitment letter refers to AEHI's Reactor Land Development LLC private placement memorandum for the Idaho Energy Complex's Unit 1, and closing is expected by year end.
AEHI will allocate the funds for the nuclear power plant site purchase, large forgings and the engineering and environmental work needed to obtain Nuclear Regulatory Commission approval for the construction and operation of the new nuclear plant.
Alternate Energy Holdings' current projects include nuclear construction, biofuel generation and a system for removing carbon dioxide from coal and natural-gas plant emissions.
