The Utah Museum of Natural History at the University of Utah, in partnership with Zions Bank, has opened a new lobby exhibit, "Traveling Treasures: The Nature of Pattern," at the bank's South Jordan office, 1622 W. South Jordan Parkway (10400 South).
The lobby exhibit will remain on display through Jan. 4 during regular lobby hours.
In addition, "Traveling Treasures" will usher in the holiday season with a Lights-On ceremony at the South Jordan Zions Bank branch from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Ornaments made by second-grade students at nearby Rose Creek Elementary School will adorn the tree at 6 p.m. in the lobby.
The event will also feature entertainment and activities.
The Traveling Treasures lobby exhibit features objects from the museum's collections that illustrate intricate and delicate patterns that happen in natural forms. The four-case exhibit offers more than 20 different objects, including shells, minerals and various botany specimens.
