LEHI The Utah Department of Transportation is holding an open house Thursday to discuss plans for a new east-west road from Saratoga Springs to American Fork.
UDOT has been studying possible routes for the road for several months, and has announced it prefers the road be five lanes, and run from Main Street in American Fork to 600 North in Saratoga Springs. The public is invited to comment on this preferred route and other alternatives during the open house.
The meeting will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Snow Springs Elementary in Lehi, 850 S. 1700 West.
Bryan Adams, UDOT program manager, said his agency's preferred route for the road would impact less than four acres of wetlands, and only one building relocation might be needed. Just over $100 million in funding has been set aside for the route, and Adams said UDOT will likely begin construction in the next year or two.
