PROVO — Helping lead the Cougars to a 48-27 win over San Diego State on Saturday, freshman running back Harvey Unga and sophomore defensive end Jan Jorgensen were named the Mountain West Conference offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively.

Unga ran for 161 yards on 23 carries, averaging 7.0 yards per carry. He totaled a career-high four touchdowns, including three rushing TDs. Unga was also credited with three receptions for 29 yards.

His 24 points against the Aztecs set the MWC single-game record for scoring by a freshman.
