A would-be bank robber walked away empty-handed Monday because the clerk couldn't understand the hold-up note she was given.
About 12:15 p.m., a black man wearing a dark blue jacket, blue jeans, sunglasses and a safari-style tan fishing hat walked into Key Bank, 1939 W. 4700 South, and handed the clerk a note demanding money, said Taylorsville Police Sgt. Rosie Rivera.
But when the teller told the man she didn't understand the note, he became frustrated and left, Rivera said. Although he didn't get any money, the man still could be prosecuted for attempted bank robbery.
The man was last seen driving a white compact vehicle.
Anyone with information can call Taylorsville police at 743-7000 or the FBI at 579-1400.
