PLAYER TO WATCH

SDSU KEVIN O'CONNELL has taken the Aztec offense on his back, accounting for 75 percent of the team's firepower, especially with his running ability inside the redzone.

KEY MATCHUP

BYU's front seven against O'Connell's arm and legs. O'Connell loves to take off in the red zone and make defenses pay. He has great size and speed.

THE STAKES

For SDSU: A win gives the Aztecs a major upset to culminate a disappointing season and draws SDSU into a tie with TCU at 4-4 in league play.

For BYU: A win lifts BYU to only the second undefeated back-to-back championship in school history, keeps the Cougars in the national rankings, and a long shot for a BCS bid.

THE TRENDS

For SDSU ... Defensively, the Aztecs have fallen on hard times, giving up 1200 yards the past two games to TCU and AFA.

For BYU ... The Cougars are working on a record 16-game league win streak and have not lost on the road in league play since playing the Aztecs in 2005.

THE EDGE

SDSU will win if ... The Aztecs bombard the Cougars with pin-point long bomb passes and get four turnovers off BYU's offense.

BYU will win if ... The Cougars establish the line of scrimmage, control the clock with a balanced attack and take advantage of SDSU's inability to make tackles.

INJURY REPORT

BYU ... Max Hall (shoulder) will start, Harvey Unga (knee, ankle) is probable.

SDSU ... Tight end Matthew Kawulk (ankle), safety T.J. McKay (knee) and DB Nick Sanford (shoulder) are questionable and RB Brandon Sullivan (toe) is doubtful.
