Has it ever occurred to the political arena why people do not attend truth-in-taxation meetings? The last one I attended, the board had already made up its mind to raise taxes. One member said that they were taught in their youth to live within their means and do without if they didn't have the money, but it didn't stop the board from raising taxes.
My home taxes keep on going up every year, yet we are told that if they raise the home value, everything has to be neutral. I guess neutral is higher taxes. Another example: Higher school taxes have not equaled higher test scores. The school districts raise their taxes every year and ignore the public input.
Why attend, if their minds are already made up?
