DOWN ON THE FARM: The Boston Celtics on Friday assigned guard Gabe Pruitt, a rookie from Southern Cal, to the Utah Flash, the D-League affiliate they share with the Jazz.

Pruitt appeared in two games for the Celtics this season, but was on the inactive list for six.

To make room for him on their 12-man roster heading into tonight's regular-season opener at Anaheim, the expansion Flash waived former University of Nevada guard Garry Hill-Thomas.

Meanwhile, according to their pre-game notes, the Flash plan to bring Jazz-assigned center Kyrylo Fesenko off the bench and start ex-Washington Wizard James Lang in the middle for tonight's opener.
