HURRICANE Police in southern Utah are uniting to provide Christmas gifts to needy children.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office and the St. George Police Department have begun their annual "Shop With a Cop" fund-raiser. Officers are seeking donations from the community to help purchase Christmas gifts for children and their families.
"We spend the day taking kids around and helping them buy presents for their families," Washington County Sheriff's Lt. Jake Adams said. "Most of these kids would not have access to Christmas gifts without us."
The Dixie Elks Lodge is coordinating some of the efforts. Anyone interested in donating should call 435-673-1743.
