OREM Jin Ju, minister-counselor for science and technology in the Chinese Embassy to the United States, will speak Thursday at Utah Valley State College.
His address, "China's Science and Technology Development and China-U.S. S&T Collaboration," will be at 11:30 a.m. in Room CS 404
Jin Ju earned a bachelor's of mechanical engineering and a master's of science in science and technology information in China, and a master's of science in technology management at Sussex University of the United Kingdom.
He has worked in international cooperation in science and technology at the Ministry of Science and Technology of China.
From 1995 to 1997, he was the first secretary of the Chinese Embassy in the United States. From 1997 to 2000, he was posted as the Science and Technology Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Australia.
From 2000 to 2005, he served as the Deputy Director-General in the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He was appointed as the Chinese Representative at the Commission of Science and Technology for Development in the United Nations from 2004 to 2005.
The event is free and open to the public.
