Residents urged to vote on pupils' radon posters

Sixty student artists are looking for your vote.

The students from eight schools have created posters depicting radon's dangers, origins, how it slips into homes and how grown-ups can detect the invisible, radioactive gas.

The public is asked to vote for their favorite poster at www.radon.utah.gov by Dec. 12. Three winners will be named by the Department of Environmental Quality for art done by hand and computer, and an overall winner.

Last year's winners were Sara Jane Egan and Rachel Pinnock of Olympus Junior High. Pinnock went on to win the national contest.
