3A Championship: Logan 28, Judge 12
Logan forced five turnovers, and this strong safety accounted for three of them, one interception and two fumble recoveries.
PLAY OF THE GAME
Despite trailing 14-0 early in the second quarter, Judge was still very much in the game. That all changed with 9:36 left in the first half when Stephen Gwynn hauled in a 76-yard touchdown pass from Jeff Manning to put the Grizzlies comfortably ahead 21-0.
KEY CALL
Logan coach Mike Favero said he opened the game with a pooch kickoff so Lewis Walker wouldn't get a shot at returning the kickoff. It was a brilliant move because his team recovered the kickoff and when Logan's Jeff Manning scored a few plays later it set the tone for the rest of the game.
QUOTABLE
"We just came out here and played our hardest knowing they were going to be big headed. We just took it to 'em." KC Taylor, Logan fullback
